Rami Beracha’s advice to students of Herzliya’s Interdisciplinary Center is based on his own personal experience. When he was young, Rami was adamant about pursuing a law degree. Though he was unsure if it was the right path for him, he decided to continue his law studies, got an MBA in New York, and then worked abroad in a law firm. He realized that he had a passion more in business than law while working in a Wall Street law firm. He left his job and moved to France to take on an MBA.

After completing her studies in 1996, Beracha was employed by the Venture Capital Fund Pitango. Pitango is Israel’s largest venture capital investment company. Pitango is a fund that focuses on startups that are that are developing the core areas of high tech, has received over 200 investments from its investors and has exited more than 85 companies so far. Rami was made managing partner in 2000. In the following 18 years the company was involved in a variety of deals which resulted in successful exits to large corporations in the Fortune 500 like Broadcom, Marvel and Cisco.

He didn’t stop there. Globes awarded Beracha with the “Esteemed Partner”, recognizing him for his work as an important investor. Rami founded Sosa in 2014, a new initiative. Sosa hosts the innovation centers in New York (and Tel Aviv) where they collaborate with global entrepreneurs and assist the most innovative companies in high tech. Sosa was recently appointed to supervise the building and operation of the city’s cyber center.

Beracha together with a handful of business partners, recently established a London blockchain venture capital investment fund. Beracha is able and willing to assist in expanding the market after having played a role in the transformation of Israel into a world-class center for high-tech. Beracha has said that the new fund is aligned with his business outlook. They’re seeking passionate firms to help blockchain achieve its right spot at the leading edge of the latest ideas that propel the world forward.

Beracha plans to create the Middle East venture capital fund in along with the European fund. After the Abraham Accords that Israel and the United Arab Emirates recently signed and he is convinced that it’s the ideal time to make a bet on the Arab market. Dubai is an ideal starting point, because it is wealthy and very modern. Ender Ventures or his newest fund is the concept behind Ender Ventures. This fund will aid in the development of UAE high-tech enterprises in the fields of artificial intelligence and virtual reality. The United Arab Emirates is unique in its outlook on business. It will most likely draw many companies to its doors within the coming years because of its low corporate tax rates and a very favorable legislation for businesses.

Rami Belacha’s Challenging Past

Although Rami Beracha is a successful person today, his path was not always smooth. Beracha like many Israelis became a soldier when he was just a young man. He became an Paratrooper’s Brigade Combat Soldier and was a combat soldier during the Lebanon War. In 1983, just following the end of the war, Rami was part of an emergency rescue team that was sent to aid wounded soldiers in a wild minefield. Rami fell on the mines and fell, losing his foot and his hand.

The time he spent in the hospital rehabilitation was among the most challenging times of his entire life. He couldn’t move and was overwhelmed by depression and despair. His dreams of becoming an officer in the Army did not materialize and he lost his sense of himself. Rami recuperated from his pain and found the drive to live his life even if that meant giving up on his dreams. He made the decision to get stronger and more efficient than he was before his injuries. Rami was the first to take on other extreme sports. Nowadays, he enjoys kitesurfing (and snowboarding), and has even hiked Mount Kilimanjaro. He is constantly striving to improve his skills and feels like his old uninjured self is driving him along.

Rami gives donations to and is a volunteer in numerous organisations and is committed to helping young soldiers, just like him, who have been injured during combat. Rami was the leader of an army group that helped injured soldiers on a 2016 journey to Nepal. In 2018, he was promoted to major in the Israeli army’s fire and paratrooper brigades. He had dreams when he was when he was a teenager and they came true despite the many difficulties. His story and his passion are a true inspiration to others. Rami didn’t let his injuries hold her back. He kept trying new things, learning and growing until he became stronger than he was before.
